Fairbanks Santa's Helpers kicks off 2018 season.

A young Fairbanksian offers her Christmas wish list.

Fairbanks Santa's Helpers commenced their 2018 donation collection season with their second volunteer meeting November 15, 2018 at Fairbanks Nissan, a major sponsor of this year's effort to help 350 families during the upcoming holidays.

Volunteers are needed for various tasks, with much of the preparation work occurring November 23rd and December 16th. The first step is to move toys from storage to Fairbanks Nissan for initial set up between Friday, the 23rd and Sunday, the 25th, about four hours each of those days.

Between November 26th and December 12th, volunteers are needed between 12 noon and 7pm to answer phones, record referrals, and organization donations of toys according to age and gender. A coordinator is needed to map locations for distribution, organize referral forms, and work on the distribution plan.

On December 16th, Santa's Helpers will need 100+ drivers to deliver toys and food boxes to the families. If the families are not home, they can come pick up their toys and boxes at Fairbanks Nissan on the 17th. Then volunteers will be needed for the clean up crew and putting any leftover items back in storage.
